Our friends Groundswell turn 9!

March 7 2019

We are long time admirers of the work of the fabulous women who make up the Groundswell Project. So I was really thrilled to be able to be part of their ninth birthday celebrations earlier this week, particularly as there was an amazing cake, and we were hanging out in the beautiful Blue Mountains. Rest assured, it was not all cake and admiring the views (amazing though they were). We were doing some on-site planning for the International Public Health Palliative Care Conference in October.

I am part of the Scientific Committee so had the pleasure of reading 226 abstracts – the most ever submitted to this conference. And it was a pleasure to find out that so much exciting work is happening. I’m particularly excited about the creative arts presentations, especially as the venue has the most amazing auditorium for staging performances and screening films (fingers crossed some of our work may feature….!).
